Good Night?
This piece was one of my very first. It was simple with a strong message. As my body of work grew this piece always obtained its interest!
Another thing i loved....
Glass! I loved the use of glass for the works i created last year. I thought the overall look was stunning and in most cases the glass was a way of containing and encasing my works as well as being part of the piece too!
The piece on the left is Past time, Play time. and the piece on the right is New Generations.

Developing - 2011.
2011 bought a new challenge for me. I had a year long project to complete for my degree. There was a huge amount of pressure to come up with an amazing idea that was going to develop over the year. I continued with my miniatures and my fascination with them grew and it's now hard to keep up with all the possibilites!!!Tilt Shift Photography - 2012

Here's another experiment from today... This one is from Tahuna Beach, Nelson New Zealand. Quite a windy day here, not too bad but enough to get a great photograph!!!
I just have to share...
I will continue to post my older works but I also explore tilt shift photography (the art of making real life look miniature). Its only something I have started exploring but its quite intriguing so I thought I would share a photo I took today.
Its taken at Honeymoon Bay, which is located just round from the amazing Kaiteriteri beach in the top of the South Island!

What do you think??? Does it look miniature to you??
Lost - 2010.
This was one of my final pieces for submission towards my degree. The series was titled 'Minutes Alone'.
Minutes alone was a series that came from the idea of being alone and the things people do when they are alone. Sit, Wander and Think.
Using little lives to mimic our own. HO scaled characters to create the scenes.
The series is created from installations and have then been photographed.
Some installations I have created from found objects like carpet, twigs, steel wool and shaving cream.
Other installations have been created using more natural settings, taken in the garden and at the beach.
Indulge - 2010.
Not every scene was a complete extravagant installation with lots going on. This was one of my simpler favourites!!
Experimenting - 2010
I had many good and not so good installations, but the not so good gave me something to develop from!! I often combined real life places and features with small installations.
Contemplate - 2010.
This was one of the very first small installations I made. I would set up a scene and when I was happy with it I would photograph it. The setting up the scene would often take a couple of hours and so I would photograph it several hundred times because I didnt make the scenes in a safe place to keep so I would hope out of the several hundred photos I would have at least a few amazing images!!!
Beginning.
I graduated with my degree in visual arts and design at the end of last year and I thought I would share with you my collection I have so far and continue to share with you my miniatures as they grow and develop into amazing things.
I love creating things, I have ever since I was little. So naturally that’s what I went on to study further.
The works started from accumulating a group of small objects and the inspiration flew from there!!
Most of the time I work with tiny plastic figures that are only millimetres tall, usually found with model railway sets - HO scaled figures.
My aim as a visual artist is to create miniature worlds that will entice others to see with new eyes, and to share my fascination with the delicate and subtle details that are everywhere around us, and yet so easily overlooked.
I really hope you enjoy my work as much as I do!!!
